Paper {love}..

I love getting wedding invitations in the mail.. it's no surprise considering i love paper goods in general. If you are looking for inspiration to creating the perfect invite for your special day, look no further than once wed. I absolutely love everything I've found on the site so far..
here are a few of my faves..

I've also been a fan of this set for quite some time now. I've printed out many photos from this wedding and stuck them in my inspiration book for future reference.. I love the red and turquoise combination..

And last but not least... the theme image logo/monogram.

While were on the subject...

How great is this? On my last post, I put up an inspiration board from Snippet and ink..
This poster really stuck out of the mix of photos. I just love the style, the colors... everything about it really..

a little creativity goes a long way...

Sooooo loving these personalized Gocco'd wedding invites! The colors and theme work so well together (and PS how beautiful is that tree??!!) Instead of going for the standard embossed wedding invites by these people.. I'm pretty sure we're gonna take this route invitation wise.. we are very un-traditional and I like to think we are fun.. this would be totally appropriate for us!!
do you like?

Delightfully surprised

Browsing etsy is a regular pass time of mine. I tend to get antsy reallllly easily when nothing interesting happens at work. Especially during lunch when my peeps aren't getting together to chow down.. today is just one of those days..

I thought I'd keep myself busy by browsing etsy.. omg, I'm so glad I did.

I wasn't even looking for invites specifically which is why this comes as a delightful surprise..

cute, simplistic, to the point...

I LOVE IT.

Check out Nic and Kristen's work at Evapaul through etsy. Their range of style and attention detail is pretty amazing..

DIY night: The Photoshop Edition

So while everyone else in the world is out partying their friday night pants off, I like to stay at home and be a stick in the mud with the pupster.. I know.. riveting.

But, tonight the boy is out of the house, so I have to find ways to keep my mind pre-occupado. It's only friday night.. I'm already bored.. hmmm.. anyways I'm so glad I started playing around with photoshop tonight. I was inspired by a great invitation idea with photobooth images on flickr.. Unfortunately, the images were taken down..

so I thought I'd create something fun.. a little
friday night DIY if you will.

4 photo booth shots (on a magnet strip with a red backing)
laid over marigold card stock
wrapped with a band of light green cello/clear paper
(with monogram maybe?)

Flip the card over to view invitation details It's still a work in progress..

Martha Friday: Save the dates

Martha always leaves me some what perplexed... there are always some really fantastic ideas on her site. But the problem with most of them is if you try to create them in mass quantities, you might not make it past item #3 in the working line.

Don't get me wrong. The projects dreamed up by these people are pretty impressive.. I just don't see myself sitting down and spending weeks working on hand painted papermache party favors that will most likely end up being tossed in the trash (unless your mom hangs on to it)

But out of the hundreds of thousands of great looking ideas, there are a few doables you can make and will be much less expensive to do than getting it done professionally..

I can totally see this being doable...

Sticker save the dates. Maybe with a photobooth photo sticker instead?

Punched

These great Save the date cards by Lil ribbers would work perfectly with the style of invite we'd love to have.. ahh to dream..

inspiration..

I was flipping through pages of graphic design magazines at Chapters last weekend, and this ad caught my eye.. I took a picture with my cell (yea... I know... I'm one of those people) and kept trying to envision this design for a wedding invite...

AHHHH love it!!

Here is a copy via the Type Directors Club.

I can already feel the creative juices flowing... now.. do I DIY Gocco or stamping.. hmmm...

Now we're talking...

Now if I could only find the template... maybe with a gocco session I could figure this out...

The dream wedding..

Photography by Marie Labbancz via Brides Magazine

I am going to hit the ground running with this one. I am official sold on this idea. The dress, the shoes, the vintage appeal, beautiful cake.. oh My god.

We talk about ceremonies and venues and different things. We like things that have meaning, family oriented things. That is just us. We don't plan on marrying in a church, or having the big bash In a sought after venue everyone dreams of getting married in. (If you haven't read the past posts and are just getting into this blog you will be quick to discover we are looking for a no fuss casual affair)

Amanda and Daniel were married at the beautiful Bartan's Garden in Philadelphia, PA. She wore a beautiful white tea length, strapless, 2 piece gown. He wore a Paul Smith black suit to complete the casual look. The bridesmaids wore black dresses of their choice and the groomsmen wore black suits to complement the grooms attire. (I love this look. Classic, timeless.. casual yet chic)

The details of this wedding are absolutely wonderful. From the hand made invitations to the custom upholstered furniture everything was thought out extensively and executed with charm.
The guests were treated to a delicious spread of baby lamb chops and mushroom risoto catered by Philidelphia's Jeffery Miller Catering. The cake, decorated with details of small and large buttons, was a creation by Old City bakery. (whoever thought this up is a genius.. such a beautiful cake)

As a personal touch for the end of the evening, the couple gave out smoores and hot chocolate to departing guests (This is my kinda of affair)

P.S. who doesn't love smoores and hot chocolate??!!

I would save the date to this wedding.. would you?

Petits Bonhommes

Place cards available at http://www.weddingstar.com

I've always liked this design for thank you cards.. but the more and more I think about it, they would look really cute for an invitation. Simple yet nice for a casual affair.

Something original...

'Biking together' Card by kindred knits via etsy

I am officially freaking out.

I was wondering if I'd ever be able to get out of a standard 'Hallmark' card world, when all of a sudden I ended up on this AMAZING website!!! Basically, it's an eBay for artists and designers, painters, sewers.. you name it, they have it! From one of a kind greeting cards to custom made jewellery, this site has it all!! I am absolutely amazed at all the crazy ideas and details everyone has brought to the table. Browse around.. see what you can find!

There might be light at the end of the originality tunnel after all!!

P.s. How cute would this card be for a wedding 'thank you' note..

LOVE IT!!!
